I live, dream and eat fitness every day of my life. I fell in love with fitness 11 years ago. I wanted to share my love with others who have the aspiration to become a better stronger version of themselves. I am expecting my first child and although balancing family and a career may be tough sometimes, I believe that finding time for yourself and your health is very important, and sets a great example for the family. Fitness is here to be enjoyed! Fitness provides us with the ability to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle. I grew up playing many different sports, such as softball, dance, horseback riding, cheerleading, archery, and motocross.
At the age of 18, I struggled with an eating disorder, I went from weighing 145lb to 98lb. I was told on a daily basis that I was worthless and not good enough, I started to believe it. After losing all the weight, I knew that I needed to get myself into a healthy lifestyle. A few of my friends were members of the Rochester Athletic Club, after visiting the gym I quickly became a member and then an employee. I started as a personal trainer, but no one wanted to work with the skinny girl. At that moment I knew I needed to break free of the eating disorder and gain weight the healthy way, through lifting weights and eating the right foods. I decided I was going to compete in a bodybuilding show. My training was just a short 8 weeks, but I was able to gain 10lbs of healthy muscle! Going through the process and learning how to be disciplined was the best thing for me. After a few months, I went from being a personal trainer to the club's aerobics director! I worked for the company for about 7 years and then decided to go back to school to become an EMT. Fast forward a few years and you will see me still lifting weights and living the same healthy lifestyle. My husband and I are the proud owners of this gym and we love sharing our stories with new and potential members.
As a passionate Certified coach and Personal Trainer, my role is to motivate, enable and make training a fun and rewarding experience. I love to see my clients achieve their personal health and fitness goals, through a tailored approach of one on one sessions and guided fitness classes. Life is an adventure, filled with continual improvement and we can achieve our goals – no matter how big or small! Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen.
